Did you know that there are more French restaurants in New York City than there are in France? New York City is one of the premier city destinations with the best culinary offerings for the food lover. In this tiny island city with over nine million residents, there are thousands of restaurants, from small diners to hotel dining rooms with spiral staircases and crystal chandeliers. Almost every country in the planet has representative residents in New York City. They bring their Old World recipes with them and share them with the millions of people who travel the streets on New York daily.

If you are looking for exotic Asian cuisine, the mix of traditional Chinese, Asian fusion, Japanese and Thai will not disappoint. Head over to Chinatown for authentic Chinese cuisine. Watch as expert chefs roll dumplings by hand or create perfectly sliced noodles for aromatic soups. Sample fresh vegetable combinations with bok choy, water chestnuts, carrots and fresh onion. Chinatown prides itself on using only the freshest ingredients from delicate cuts of pork to fresh chicken, savoury beef and fillets of fish.

When your venture into Chinatown is complete, simply cross the street into Little Italy for a taste of the Old World. Sample beef Bolognese, baked ziti, antipasto and fresh provolone. Little Italy is an eclectic mix of large family-style restaurants and sidewalk cafes that satisfy the taste buds of any Italian food lover.

Take a trip to India without ever leaving Manhattan in the Murray Hill section of the island. Experience warm curries, naan, tandoori and jasmine rice with a vast array of Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani restaurants. The district is home to hundreds of eateries serving dishes infused with spices, rich sauces and flavourful breads. Murray Hill is an Indian-food lover’s paradise.

For a little soul, head uptown to Harlem where you can experience the flavourful dishes native to Southern African-American culture. Soul food finds its roots in Harlem where you can sample traditional dishes like southern fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, candied yams, collard greens and warm corn bread. Finish off your meal with traditional sweet potato pie or the crowd favourite, Red Velvet cake. For soul food, there is no better neighbourhood that Harlem in Manhattan.

Head further north as you border the Bronx in the Washington Heights section. Here you will find Latin American favourites from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Sample dishes such as arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) with a side of habichuelas (beans). Take in the sweet savoury flavours of fried platanos, or yuca. Tempt your taste buds with authentic Latin American flavour in the upper Manhattan Washington Heights section.

Finally, let your trip around the globe lead you back to lower Manhattan for traditional American favourites. Sample steakhouses, gourmet cuisine and specialties. Simply want a burger and French fries? Well there are no shortage of burger joints in lower Manhattan that will serve potatoes fried to golden perfection.

If you are looking for a world class city destination with the best culinary offerings, look no further than New York City. Also, the best way to enjoy it will be with any of the range of American Express’s platinum credit cards, which offer a huge range of benefits.

Thailand is a beautiful place of mixed cultures and different languages but the services provided by the Thais to the tourists or the visitors comes from different parts and corners of the world are warm and refreshing with full of joy.
Avoiding any kind of confrontation, embarrassment or humiliation is very important. This can be frustrating to outsiders for whom ‘getting things done’, is more important than how everyone feels. Thai people will always try and reach a ‘face saving’ solution to any problem. Some of the best tourist places in Thailand are –

1. The Grand Palace located in Bangkok, is one of most spectacular palaces in the world.
3. Wat Pho – The world famous Temple of the Reclining Buddha.

4. Wat Traimit – A spectacular Buddhist Temple surrounded by a golden Buddha.

5. Wat Benchamabophit – A spectacular Buddhist Temple made entirely of marble which reflects the sun rays on the Temple entranceway.

6. The Royal Barges - Which are home to the largest floating markets in the world.

7. Wat Suthat – A large naturally formed swing in the luscious tree lined Mountain regions of Thailand.

8. Wat Saket – Known locally as Golden Mount, this mountain reflects the suns ray in such a way that the mountain appears to be made from gold.

9. Erwan Shrine – A Hindu shrine that houses a statue of Phra Phrom, often featuring performances by Thai dance troupes.

10. Pastuer Institute – Operated by the Thai Red Cross this building houses the world’s largest collection of poisonous snakes. Visitors can watch the extraction of venom which is sent worldwide for use by international medical practitioners.

Kanha National Park is situated between Mandla and Balaghat districts and was established for tiger reserve in 1955. Kanha Kisli National Park is undertaking by Government under Madhya Pradesh Forest Department and was spread in around 940 square kilometers of open forest. Kanha Kisli National Park is opened in all season but the main visitors’ time to see and feel the nature is in winters. The National Park is divided into two major attractions Flora (plants and flowers) and Fauna (animals).

Flora – Kanha National Park consists of 200 species of flowers and plants. The lowland forest is a mixture of Sal and other mixed forest trees, interspersed with meadows. The highland forests are tropical moist dry deciduous type and of a completely different nature with bamboo on slopes. A very good looking Indian ghost tree can also be seen in the dense forest.

Kanha Tiger Reserve abounds in meadows or maidens which are basically open grasslands that have sprung up in fields of abandoned villages, evacuated to make way for the animals. A dense forested zone with good crown cover has abundant species of climbers, shrubs and herbs flourishing in the understory. Aquatic plants in numerous “Tal” are life line for migratory and wetland species of birds.

Fauna – At Kanha the majestic tiger is the keystone species. The big cats tigers and leopards are tertiary carnivores in the food chain. Besides the big cats – wild dogs, wild cat, fox and the jackal can be seen at Kanha.

Among the deer species Swamp Deer or Ground Barasingha is pride of the place as it is the only sub species of swamp deer in India. The animal is adopted to hard ground unlike swamp deer’s which live in marshy swamps. Kanha National Park has been instrumental in rescuing the “Swamp Deer” from extentions.

Indian Gaur is in reality an ox race which is found in Kanha, but seen mostly in winter. In summers gaur inhabit meadows and water holes in the park. Common feature of the park animals are spotted deer, sambar, barking deer and four horned deer. The latter can be seen at Bamni Dadar climb. Recently mouse deer has been discovered in the tiger reserve. Recently Black buck have been introduced inside a fenced area in the park.

Nilgai can be seen near the Sarahi Gate while Indian Wolf once commonly seen at Mocha is a rare sight now. Hyena and sloth bear are seen with luck. Langurs and wild boars are common but the pugnacious rhesus macaque is less seen. Reptiles Python, Cobra, Krait, Rat Snake, Viper, Keelbacks, Grass snakes etc are nocturnal animals rarely seen.

Malaysia is a small island based country known for their best services provided by any country for their visitors and tourists and as known as Truly Asia. It’s a place full of taste and exciting with historical landmarks, beaches, fabulous hotels, animals, shopping, food and many more things to do and experience. Malaysia is a place of different cultures and taste like Malay, Chinese and Indian flavors with a mix tradition and modernity. Some of the best tourist places in Malaysia which a person can explore and experience are as follows –

Kuala Lumpur – The meaning of Kuala Lumpur is “muddy estuary” in Malay; the capital of Malaysia has grown from a small sleepy village to a bustling metropolis (population 4.2 million) in just 50 years. With the world’s cheapest five-star hotels, great shopping and even better food, increasing numbers of travelers are discovering this little gem of a city.

Cameron Highlands – This is Malaysia’s largest highland resort. Situated 1,500 meters above sea level, Cameron Highlands comprises a series of little townships where you can visit the butterfly, strawberry, honey bee farms and sprawling tea plantations. Being a primarily agricultural area, you will find an abundance of vegetables and fruits farms here. It is also the leading producer of flowers and tea in Malaysia. Some of the major attractions of this place are Boh Tea Plantation, Sungai Palas Tea Plantation, Big Red Strawberry Farm, Healthy Strawberry Farm, Time Tunnel Gallery, Saturday night markets and Ee Feng GU Honey Bee Farm.

Penang – Known as one of Southeast Asia’s finest destinations, Penang is a popular place dotted with outstanding palm shrouded and white sandy beaches and exotic sights. The beaches are also home to exciting beach sports and activities like swimming, sailing, parasailing, surfing, fishing, boating and jet skiing. Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang are the most popular beaches of this place. There are also historical sites, temples, mosques and churches to view in this place. Some of the major attractions of this place are Koo Kongsi, Penang Hill, Penang Butterfly Farm, Tropical Fruit Fram, Penang Museum, and Penang Bridge etc.

Tioman – Tioman is a small island located off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. In the 1970s, Time Magazine selected this island as one of the world’s most beautiful islands. Tourists have surged to the island ever since, seeking a taste of paradises. The island is surrounded by numerous white coral reefs, making it a haven for scuba divers while the interior is densely forested. Visitors outnumber villagers outside the monsoon (November to February), but Tioman can be virtually deserted at other times.

The Petronas Twin Towers – The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur were the world’s tallest buildings before being surpassed in 2004 by Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings in the world. The 88-floor towers are constructed largely of reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass facade designed to resemble motifs found in Islamic art, a reflection of Malaysia’s Muslim religion. The Petronas Twin Towers feature a sky bridge between the two towers on the 41st and 42nd floors.

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation center – Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation opened in 1964 for rescued orphaned baby orangutans from logging sites, plantations and illegal hunting. The orphaned orangutans are trained to survive again in the wild and are released as soon as they are ready. The Orangutan sanctuary is located within the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, much of which is virgin rainforest. About 60 to 80 orangutans are living free in the reserve. It is one of Sabah’s top tourist attractions and a great stopover on any Malaysia itinerary.

Tourism is a thriving industry, contributing significantly to the economy of Malaysia and attracting large number of visitors from all over the world every year and also being most popular places to travel for travelers.

Dharamshala has respectfully built a war memorial to remember the memory for those who fought bravely for the defense of their motherland. Peoples pray here for those who are martys. This is at the entry point of Dharamshala. The Dharamshala is located at 9 km. from Macloedganj which is about 90 kms from the Pathankot railway station. It is hardly 3 to 4 hrs drive from Pathankot. If you are getting there by Air, Gaggal is the nearest Airport which is 12 km. far away.

Macleodganj is also known as little Lhasa is the merger of cultures. This is the small town which is full of shops where you can find anything and everything of your use. Just walk into any art and craft shop, you will find a wide variety of Tibetan Art like painting, musical bowls, idol of Lord Buddha or handmade woolen works. The Tibetan restaurants and shops are always crowded and the muesli cafes, Internet Centers, Theaters, Italian restaurants are always full.

There is a Dal Lake near Macleodganj but there is no water in the lake. This lake is surrounded by the mountains and fir trees but this dry lake attracts the visitors. Dharamkot, which is 2000 mts high from the upper Dharamshala, gives us a panoramic view of the District of Kangra and the peaks of Dhauladhar. You will notice that there is an energetic connection of Tibetan and Israeli. The Himalayan region is the address of Devi Temples like Chamunda Temple, Brajeshwari Devi Temple, Jwalamukhi and Chintapurni.

These temples are very famous and can be reached in one day. Jwalamukhi Devi is worshipped in the form of fire. There is a 5 cm. long flame that is continuously burning without any source of fossil fuel from centuries. This proves the presence of Devi in the Earth in flame form.

Fed up of wasting your weekends in front of the TV or fiddling about with DIY projects that never seem to go anywhere? Do you have a yearning for excitement? But how far can you really get in one weekend? Adventure weekends can seem few and far between, but there are a few gems out there, especially if you consider that Scandinavia is only a few hours away by plane, and flights are cheap and readily available from most UK airports.

For exciting adventure weekends packed with skiing, mountain biking, snowmobile riding and both sea and river kayaking, Sweden makes the ideal destination, with its breathtaking landscape and long history of winter sports. From the isle of Gotland in the east to the stunningly beautiful archipelago of the west, Sweden is filled with experiences that you will never forget.

Of course, after all that exertion you’ll need to relax, and what better way to wind down than an afternoon in a traditional Swedish spa, followed by a plunge into a naturally heated hot spring? Sweden is perfect for adventure weekends, with its combination of stunning scenery, high-adrenaline experiences and true relaxation. Sweden’s restaurants have been growing in reputation too, so your getaway will be a treat for all the senses.

So this week, when you’re stuck behind your desk, yearning to get away and make your mark on the world, why not let your mind wander north, and plan your perfect Swedish weekend adventure, the ultimate antidote to the daily grind.
